The Gentle into that Good Night painting is about the preciousness of life. “The eye is something I have always gravitated to drawing and painting since I was a kid, it’s directness is intriguing to me. It symbolises life. When painting this work I thought about how life is fleeting, (the whale, the clouds, the ‘flowiness’ you see on the right hand side, it’s all connected) we need to make the most of our short time on this earth” - Brandi Salmon
